Geosynthetic clay liner Introduction (GCL-NP)

It is a bentonite geosynthetic waterproof barrier. It can self-adhere and self-seal to concrete and other construction structures. It consists of non-woven geotextile, natural sodium bentonite layer and polypropylene sheet.

The three layers are bonded by dense needle-punched fibers, which confines bentonite and controls its expansion. This structure avoids slippage and bentonite accumulation caused by cuts, tears, vertical installation and structural movement.

Its performance can meet or exceed GRI-GCL3 and Chinese national standard JG/T193-2006.

Functions

The core engineering function of GCL is to serve as a hydraulic barrier to contain water, leachate, other liquids and occasionally gases. It can replace compacted clay liners or geomembranes, or be combined with traditional liner materials for enhanced anti-seepage performance. The highest level of liner safety is often achieved by three-component composite structure: geomembrane / geosynthetic clay liner / compacted clay liner, widely adopted as landfill liners.
